OUT MAGAZINE

Physical Media Magazine Spread

This awareness magazine cover and editorial spread addresses the bans and restrictions placed on transgender individuals serving in the U.S. military, examining how policy-driven exclusion impacts identity, dignity, and service. Created for OUT Magazine, the project explores the tension between nationalism and LGBTQ+ rights through analog design practices and material experimentation.

Titled “No Pride in Service,” the composition uses image transfer techniques, layered textures, and intentional degradation to evoke censorship, erasure, and resistance. The final outcome reflects a raw, human-centered approach to editorial design, transforming abstract policy into a visceral visual narrative while demonstrating my use of conceptual storytelling and tactile process to communicate complex social issues.
